About Private Lessons
Lessons
Piano lessons are 30 minutes once a week. All lessons are in-person at my in home music studio. Payments are $100 a month.
Curriculum
My preferred curriculum is the Alfred Series for piano lessons, but I am willing to work with other series; for example, Faber and Bastien are also popular. Students will be responsible for purchasing the lesson, theory, and recital books of the appropriate level.
Performances
Recitals are held twice a year: a Spring Recital and Holiday Recital

My Background
Hi! I’m Lisa Nelson. I have been playing the piano since I was 4 years old, I studied music at the University of Texas at Arlington. I teach all ages ranging from 3 years up to 99+ years old. Additionally, I homeschooled for 15+ years and have experience with different styles of pedagogy.
My Mission
By making piano lessons rewarding and enjoyable, I hope to empower my students to find achievement and inspiration in music, building a love of music that will last a lifetime.
My Instruments
Lessons will begin on my Baldwin Spinet piano. This is my first piano, I have played since I was 4 years old. It is a prize to still own this piano.
After years of waiting, I finally have my baby grand, a Chickering mahogany wood piano manufactured in the 1950s. It is an amazing addition to my studio.
Health And Safety
- Students will wash their hands before piano lessons.
- Piano keyboard will be sanitized after each lesson.
- If a student is experiencing allergies, please wear a facial mask.
- If a student has a fever or is feeling nauseous, the piano lessons should be cancelled.
